Over the past century, generations of hardworking immigrants worldwide have steadily increased and strengthened Canada's economy. Because of this, the Canadian government favors the immigration of talented workers.
The Canadian government created and regularly adjusted the Federal Skilled Worker Program, its primary immigration program for skilled foreign workers, to achieve its economic development aims. Since 2015, this program has been handled through the online selection tool Express Entry, where applicants are asked to settle based on an assessment of several variables.
What kind of candidates does Canada seek? A skilled worker should be relatively young. An immigrant should be between the ages of 20 and 29 when they can score 100 to 110 points (depending on whether the candidate is single or married). Such candidates receive the most points possible for age.
Canada generally awards some points to applicants up to 44, with those under 40 eligible for roughly half of the age-related points.
Applicants with higher education are preferred in Canada, and the more education a candidate has, the more points they will receive. About 112-150 points are awarded to a candidate with more education. A trade certificate or degree might award between 84 and 98 points.
Knowledge of either English or French is a significant consideration in the immigration assessment. More points are available for the primary applicant who speaks at least one official language well. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the primary language has a maximum score of 128 or 136 points (depending on whether the candidate is married). Additionally, you can receive bonus points for language proficiency on the CLB 9 if you receive an IELTS score of “8.0, 7.0, and above or a CELPIP score of 9.0.”
Lastly, the applicant's job history is crucial to the immigration evaluation. Canada values work experience, but only if the applicant was employed there. As a result, having work experience in one's native country alone does not count as a point. However, the candidate receives 13 or 25 points for 1-2 years of experience from their native country and understanding of the official language(s) and 25 or 50 points for three years of experience. Also, the points are given for work experience that is both foreign and Canadian. An applicant who has Canadian experience may immigrate under the Canadian Experience Class.
As a result, the ideal skilled worker is under 30 years old, holds a bachelor's degree, has English proficiency at the CLB 9 level, and has at least three years of experience in a skilled occupation. A higher score for one of the criteria can easily make up for a factor that didn't receive any points.
