Citizenship Applications

Eligibility

  • Must be a permanent resident (landed immigrant) of Canada
  • Must have spent at least 1,095 days physically in Canada during the five years before applying.
  • May need to file personal income taxes for at least 3 years within the 5-year period
  • Must show proficiency in either French or English (if you are between 18 and 54 years old when you apply)
  • Must show that you understand Canada and the rights and obligations of citizenship (if you are between 18 and 54 at the time of application, this is determined after you apply)
  • Can’t have any unfulfilled conditions related to their permanent resident status
  • Cannot be the subject of a removal order
  • Can’t be inadmissible or prohibited on criminal or security grounds

Documents Needed

  • Color photocopy of all pages (valid or expired) of your passport(s) or travel document(s) during your (5) year eligibility period, including the biographical page which includes: name, photo, date and place of birth, passport/travel document number, issue date and expiration date

                     ●  If you do not have these documents or there is missing time between the validity dates of the 

                         travel documents, provide an explanation in question 14 on the application form


  • Photocopies of two (2) pieces of personal identification such as

                     ●  A copy of the biographical page of your passport/travel document

                     ●  Permanent resident card (PR card)

                     ●  Driver’s license

                     ●  Health insurance card

                     ●  Senior citizen identification card

                     ●  Age of majority card


Note: You need to copy both side of identification document if there is information on it. 

  

  • If you are 18 to 54 years old:

                     ●  Photocopies of your proof of English or French proficiency


Type of language evidence can be provided include:


               a. Results of a third-party language test

               b. Diploma, certificate or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program 

                    in Canada or abroad, where the language of study was English or French

               c. Proof that you have reached the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher through

                   a government-funded language training programs

 

OR


  • If you are between 18 and 54 and cannot provide proof of your proficiency in English or French due to a medical condition. In that case, you must include supporting documentation with your application


  • Please provide photocopies of one of the following:

                     ●  If you have hearing loss, you must provide an audiogram and an attestation from a Canadian

                          audiologist.

                     ●  If you have documentation from a Canadian doctor for a cognitive, mental, or physiological disease,    

                          handicap, or condition


  • Two (2) identical citizenship photos

Pay the Fees

  • Adult 18 and Plus 630$

              ●  Processing fees 530$ and 100 $ fee for right of citizenship


  • Minor under (18)

              ●  Processing fee 100$

Processing Fee

Amount: $530 for each adult applicant (18 years or older) and $100 for each child applicant (18 years of age or under).


Once we begin processing your application, even if you are rejected, you cannot get your processing fee back. 


You will only get your Right of Citizenship cost back if you decide to withdraw or cancel your application.

Prepare for your Test

  • If you are between the ages of 18 and 54 when you sign your application, you may be invited to take the test within weeks of our acceptance. Start studying for your Canadian citizenship knowledge test if you haven't already. 


  • The test consists of 20 questions. A passing score is 15 accurate responses. You will have three (3) chances to pass the test
