Super Visa
Your relatives can stay longer in Canada without having to become permanent residents. This can be accomplished by applying for either the Super Visa or the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) with an extended stay. Compared to sponsorship, it takes much less time. Super Visas can typically be obtained within 60 days. The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa with a maximum 10-year validity.
In order to successfully apply for a Super Visa for your relatives, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen
- Present documented proof of funds exceeding the following amounts per invited relative:
- 1 person $24,328
- 2 persons $30,286
- 3 persons $37,234
- 4 persons $45,206
- Your relatives must prove that they have reasons to return to their home country (such as family members, property, career, or pension)
- You must have medical insurance from a Canadian insurance firm to cover your relative’s stay in Canada
Although the application procedure is straightforward, the guidelines are incredibly stringent. A visa denial that is extremely difficult to rescind could occur as a result of a single incorrectly filled field.
